KENDRICK LAMAR WINS BIG IN A POLITICALLY CHARGED MTV AWARD

The just concluded MTV
VMA's award might have
come and gone,but one
thing will remain in our
minds,and that is how
much politically charged
this years edition was,
which is much more than
previous one's.

artists such as Jared leto,
pink,kesha,logic, made it
their duty while on stage
to shed light on issues
like mental health,suicide
awareness & body image.

The recent tragedy of
Charlottesville was'nt left
out,as Susan bro,the
mother of Heather heyer,
who was murdered in
Charlottesville,was brought
on stage

but talking about the
award general,it was a
beautiful one,and Kendrick
Lamar,who was the
biggest winner of the
night opened the floor,
he kicked off by playing
new footages of a report
highlighting police brutality
along with fox news com-
mentary,before delivering
an highly energetic,capti-
vating performance,and
in the course of the night
he won six out of his
eight nomination,which
was the highest of the
night,only losting out to
ed sheeran on the award
for best artist of the year.

Katy Perry did a good
job hosting the award,
she started by throwing
a jab at the state of affairs
under president trump
"even in the apocalypse,
we still deserve good
music" she joked.
But much of her following
skit failed to get as much
reaction from the audience

the night reached its peak
when pastor Robert Wright
Lee,a descendant of con-
Federate general Robert
E Lee,came up stage,and
spoke against those using
the name of his great
great uncle as a symbol
of hatred and white sup-
remacy,calling racism
America's original sin,
then he introduced Susan
bro,whose daughter was
killed few days ago,

then came Paris Jackson
daughter of Michael Jackson
to present the best pop
video to fifth harmony,
followed by other intrig-
uing speeches and perfo-
rmances.
